Callicarpa bodinieri var. giraldii ‘Profusion’

The onset of autumn needn’t be the end of spectacular colour in the garden. Callicarpa ‘Profusion’ is a tall upright shrub that works hard to please and lives up to it’s common name of Beauty Berry by providing large, plump purple berries in the autumn that seem luminescent in the light. In order to provide the berries in the autumn there needs to be summer flowers first so during July the shrub produces panicles of small lilac coloured flowers against a backdrop of long green leaves which will later turn to shades of red before the berries arrive. Height: 3m (10′). Spread: 2.5m (8′).
