Chaenomeles speciosa ‘Yukigoten’

There’s something extra special about plants which flower early in the year. The Flowering Quince, or Japonica, brings a promise of spring, flowering on the bare winter stems as early as March and continuing into April. Chaenomeles speciosa ‘Yukigoten’ is a mass of double white flowers and looks fabulous against a sunny wall or as a specimen plant in the border. The flowers are attractive to pollinating insects, providing a valuable source of nectar early in the year. In autumn, aromatic yellow fruits hang from the branches. The fruits can be made into tasty jellies and preserves. This is a fast growing shrub. Height: 250cm (98). Spread: 200cm (78).
