Clematis montana Plant – Rubens

Clematis montana var.rubens is a twining climber with pale pink four-petalled flowers that cover the shrub in late spring and early summer. It also has a sweet fragrance making a favourite for walls near the house where the fragrance can be enjoyed. It will grow in sun or partial shade and will cope with north-facing walls. Train through an evergreen tree or allow to ramble over a pergola. Belongs to pruning group 1 – needing pruning only to maintain shape and size and to remove dead wood. Flowers May-June. Height 250-300cm. Supplied in a 3-4 litre pot.
