Guelder Rose (Hedging)

A British native, the Guelder Rose is a deciduous shrub with maple-like green leaves and pretty white lacecap flowers in May and June. The flowers are attractive to pollinating insects and are followed in the autumn by masses of glossy red berries, which are enjoyed by birds. In addition, the leaves take on fantastic red and purple shades in autumn which compliment the fruits. A lovely addition to mixed wildlife hedges, Viburnum opulus can also be used effectively to create an informal hedge or screen with multiple seasons of interest. Height: 8m (26′). Spread: 4m (13′). Supplied as  60 – 90 cm bareroots (24 – 35). Planting distance: 30 – 45cm (12 – 18).
