Liatris spicata, or Gayfeather as it is more commonly known, is a tall plant, well suited to the back of the border where its rocket-like spires of soft mauve flowers will stand proud behind other smaller plants. Bees and butterflies just love these feathery blooms, and flower arrangers love them too for their bold colours and upright habit. Easy and undemanding, this showy plant will come up year after year, ready to flower in late summer. Height: 150cm (60). Spread: 45cm (18).
