Pinguicula Weser

The Butterwort is definitely a unique carnivorous plant that has a delicate and pretty aesthetic. The pretty pink flowers are covered in a sticky adhesive that traps the flies. In the summer months an upright stalk will produce beautiful pink flowers, and each year a new flower stalk will grow. Keep in a bright and well-lit position in a window or conservatory and ensure that it is in a frost-free position with a temperature of 15C (60F) to 32C (90F). it will need slightly acidic soil and to be kept moist. Regularly water in a water tray to help keep the moisture in and avoid watering from above. A great way of achieving the acidic soil is to mis some ericaceous compost and moss. As it is a carnivorous plant it does not need feeding as it can sort itself out! After flowering cut back the stems to allow it to become dormant for the winter. Keep watering to ensure the compost is kept moist but do not over water in the winter. Height: 15cm (6”). Spread: 15cm (6”). Some houseplants are toxic to pets if ingested, please seek advice from a veterinary professional if you believe it has been consumed. Ensure you take a sample of the plant with you. The size of the plant will differ depending on when in the year it is purchased – visuals are an indication only.
