Rodgersia aesculifolia

For those looking for plants for water logged borders, or for pond edges, Rodgersia aesculifolia is an attractive plant. The leaves at the base of Rodgersia look very similar to Horse Chestnut tree leaves and above them, on 2 foot long stems, are pink flushed tiny flowers in conical panicles. Clump forming, it is often planted alongside Ferns and Hostas, in shady and damp areas, resulting in a border that is quite distinct from other parts of the garden . Pruning is recommended after flowering has ended in autumn. Height: 2m (6.6′) Spread: 1m (39).
