Weigela florida ‘Minor Black’

Weigela florida ‘Minor Black’ is a small variety of Weigela, which originate from China and Japan. Due to its compact habit it is ideal for planting in planters and raised beds on patio and decking, or as a deciduous shrub for borders in small and medium sized gardens. The dark purple leaves contrast brilliantly with the rose-pink, funnel shaped flowers that emerge in late spring and early summer and cover the whole plant. The RHS have this plant on its Perfect for Pollinators list as it is a plant that is a rich food source for bumblebees. Very easy to care for and can be grown in most locations. A rich acidic soil, however, is ideal. Height & Spread: 75cm (30).
