Nepeta racemosa
A classic cottage garden perennial, Nepeta racemosa is a low, spreading herbaceous plant with aromatic grey-green leaves and lax spires of lilac-blue flowers throughout summer. The profusion of nectar-rich flowers are highly attractive to bees and butterflies, whilst the foliage is very attractive to cats, giving rise to the common name ‘catmint’. Fantastic for spilling informally over the edge of paths or grown in Mediterranean style gardens, Raceme Catnip is also excellent as groundcover on sunny slopes, banks and rock gardens. This low-maintenance perennial has been given an RHS Award of Garden Merit for its outstanding qualities. Height: 30cm (12). Spread: 45cm (18).
