Passiflora caerulea
Popular for its exquisite flowers, Passiflora caerulea is a vigorous semi-evergreen climber with attractive lobed leaves. From summer through to autumn it produces large white flowers with a fascinating structure, including a striking ring of blue-purple filaments. The blooms are followed by inedible, egg-shaped orange fruits. Grow passion flower plants on walls, fences and pergolas, against trellis which can support its twining tendrils. A fantastic climbing plant for tropical themed gardens, Blue Passion Flower holds an RHS AGM. Height: 10m (32′). Spread: 2m (6.5′).
