Verbascum phlomoides ‘Banana Custard’

Verbascum ‘Banana Custard’ is perfect for the back of the border where it strives to outshine other plants with it’s height and presence. The foliage is grey-green and makes a fitting backdrop to the tall spikes of summer flowering vibrant yellow blooms which flower arrangers love. Pollinating insects are pretty keen on them too. Although Verbascum phlomoides ‘Banana Custard’ is a hardy perennial it’s short lived so is often grown as a biennial but that’s not the end of the story as it will self-seed to produce a new crop of Mullein plants the next spring which will flower the year after. Height: 180cm (71). Spread: 60cm (24).
