Waldsteinia ternata
Waldsteinia ternata is a shade loving, perennial, groundcover plant. It has a dense mat of weed suppressing purple-green foliage, that is quite similar to strawberry leaves. In early spring small, yellow buttercup type flowers emerge that last until late summer. In mild winters the plant can be evergreen and in summer it has good drought tolerance. Siberian Waldsteinia is a steady spreader and does not grow out of control. It is an ideal space filler for hard to reach areas such as gaps between a greenhouse or shed and a fence, on steep banks, or in a shady border at the bottom of the garden. Height: 10cm (4). Spread: 100cm (39).
