Celery Plants – Golden Spartan The celery plants with excellent taste and texture! ‘Golden Spartan’ is a very productive pale stemmed, self blanching celery. These celery plants have excellent bolting tolerance and produce very long, smooth thick ribs with good taste and texture. Easy to grow, celery plants make a great addition to vegetable beds and borders. Golden Spartan will be ready to harvest from August through to October, the perfect season for a tasty roasted celery soup on a cold day. Growing celery plants Plant your celery plants in a sunny position spacing the plants 23cm (9") apart in each direction. Celery is a hungry and thirsty crop, so keep the plants well watered during dry spells and feed regularly with a balanced liquid fertiliser.
