Rubus odoratus
An ornamental raspberry plant, Rubus odoratus forms a thicket of thornless canes with large green maple-like leaves and fragrant, purple-pink flowers from June through to September. These are followed by red raspberry fruits which are edible and have a subtle flavour. Providing a long season of interest, the Flowering Raspberry is happy in sun or part shade and makes a lovely addition to shaded borders, woodland gardens, cottage gardens or steep banks. Great for informal screening, the flowers and fruit of Rubus odoratus are also attractive to wildlife. Height and spread: 2.5m (8′).
