Strelitzia reginae or Bird of Paradise produces astonishing long-lasting unique orange and blue bird-like flowers, which look and feel almost plastic. They make a stunning feature houseplant or conservatory plant. Their large paddle shaped leaves make a fabulous year round architectural display too even when they are not in flower. Whilst on a trip to Spain recently, Martin located a small batch of these stunning plants, about to pop into flower. Plants of a flowering size often sell for 40 or more, and are hard to find, but each one of these should flower in the next 6 Months or so, many have flower buds emerging already. These are mature 5 year old plants, cut back from flowering already last year.
