Making a wonderful addition to any display and providing year round interest in any garden, this Aronia x prunifolia ‘Viking’ is an ideal for adding late season colour to borders and woodland areas, especially in wildlife gardens. This Chokeberry shrub bears its white, sometimes pink-tinged blooms, from late spring, followed by edible, round black berries that persist into the winter. These edible berries have a slightly tart flavour which make for interesting additions to jams and puddings, but are also perfect for wild birds who appreciate them in the colder seasons. Like other Aronia shrubs, ‘Viking’ really comes into its own during the autumn, where the foliage takes on vivid shades of orange, reds and purples. Height and spread: 200cm (118").
