Cornus controversa ‘Variegata’
A jaw dropping focal point for a medium sized garden. Its common name of The Wedding Cake Tree is deserved. Its distinctive horizontal tiered branches when in full leaf and flower is a sight to behold. It takes a few years to attain its full potential. The long, green leaves with bold creamy white margins and the clusters of white flowers during June are followed by the leaves turning to their red-purple colour and blue/black berries in autumn. Choose a sunny site to show off its potential. Best planted in fertile, humus rich, well – drained soil. Fully hardy. Height: 8m (25?). Spread: 8m (25?).
