Apple ‘Gala’ (Mini Fruit Tree)
Apple ‘Gala’ is both widely grown in gardens, and a popular supermarket choice – it?s a well-loved apple variety in the UK. A reliable cultivar, ‘Gala’ apples are attractive and red flushed, surprisingly sweet when eaten straight from the tree, and make delicious apple juice. They can be harvested from September and eaten fresh, or stored for up to 3 months without losing their sweet flavour. The crowns of ?Gala? trees are easily reached to prune, spray and pick the delicious fruit when grafted onto a semi-dwarfing rootstock. Partially self-fertile, this variety is best grown with another to ensure good pollination. If you only have space for one apple tree then ensure a neighbour has a tree that can act as a suitable pollinator. Height and spread: 1m (39). Rootstock: M27.
