Cotoneaster lucidus
Cotoneaster lucidus, also known as the Peking Cotoneaster, is an ideal Cotoneaster for hedging purposes. Planted in a line, it can grow to be a tall hedge of up to 3 metres in height, and can easily be pruned if a lower hedge is prefered. It also makes a nice stand alone specimen in a wide border, or planted on a lawn or grass verge. It has a dense habit, with dark green, foliage and a mass of pink-white flowers in spring. Afterwards, black berries form and fill the shrub in the autumn months, offering a rich source of food for birds such as blackbirds. Unlike other varieties of Cotoneaster, the leaves change colour in autumn and become a fiery red/orange, which looks magnificent. It is a great hedging plant for a range of gardens from city to country. Height: 300cm (118). Spread 300cm (118).
