Lonicera nitida
With its dense mass of tiny dark green leaves on long stems, Lonicera nitida is a popular choice for hedging. It is fast growing, evergreen, and tolerates regular cutting. It can be allowed to grow tall, or can be tightly clipped into topiary shapes or a formal low hedge, and can also be grown as a stand-alone shrub. From March to May, Wilson’s Honeysuckle has small creamy white flowers, followed by purple-blue berries. It is easy to grow and maintain. Height: 3.5m (11′) if left unpruned. Spread: 3m (10′) if left unpruned.
