Fig (Ficus) Negronne (Violette De Bourdea) Delicious figs with a lovely scent! Fig ‘Violette de Bordeaux’ is a hardy fig variety. Dating from around 1680, it was found to flourish in the gardens of the Palace of Versailles during the cold winter months.The small, purple-black figs have a wonderful perfume and lovely sweet flavour. This fig will produce two crops per year, and if protected over the winter, a second crop will ripen early during the following summer. Height: 3m (9′). Spread: 4m (13′).
