Hypericum calycinum

Hypericum calycinum is a low-growing, ground-covering shrub needing virtually no maintenance. Also known as the Rose of Sharon, and popular throughout the UK, it grows almost anywhere – from fertile, moist soil to poor, dry conditions and even deep shade! Its large, daffodil-yellow flowers carry a central powder-puff of anthers from summer to autumn. A versatile shrub that makes an excellent spreading, landscape-style ground cover for borders and woodlands, Hypericum calycinum can also be trimmed into an attractive, low hedge. Height: 60cm (24). Spread: 150cm (59).
