Parthenocissus quinquefolia

A classic and popular climber for autumn colour, Parthenocissus quinquefolia is a hardy deciduous plant with attractive five-pointed leaves. A vigorous habit makes Virginia Creeper superb for quickly covering large walls, fences and pergolas. In autumn the green foliage takes on glorious shades of orange, crimson red and purple – the perfect backdrop for the blue-black berries. Happy in sun or full shade, this robust climber is easy to grow, although best positioned where it can romp away undisturbed. Height: up to 12m (39′). Spread: 4m (13′).
