Its exquisite, glossy rounded foliage is what makes this plant well known as the Fan Palm. Livistona rotundifolia is a striking house plant with an architectural appearance that brings style and elegance to any warm, bright room. The wide, palmate leaves will benefit from a humid atmosphere, well away from hot, scorching sunlight. It will be a fantastic choice for a bathroom, kitchen, warm conservatory or even a bright hallway. With a slow growing habit, it will remain a manageable size for many years. This undemanding palm is easy to grow, so is perfect for any beginner, and truly makes an excellent focal point. Keep out of direct sunlight but in a warm bright position. It will be happy in a room with a temperature of constantly over 13C (55F). Water regularly in the spring and autumn but be sure not to over water as this can cause rotting of the plant. In the winter reduce this down to keep the soil moist but not wet.
